Nursing should be one of the first places you should look if you’re interested in a career in the health care industry. Although it is at times quite demanding, nurses make up the largest group of health care professionals. Many men and women around the country find the work of a nurse to be quite rewarding.
Several types of nurses exist which means a variety of choices are available for the type of work and the amount of training needed to effectively perform your duties. Two of the most common types of nurses are Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs). Both are directly involved in providing patient care but, because registered nurses have more extensive training, LPNs work under the supervision of RNs.
There’s still a massive shortage of qualified nurses even though there are hundreds of thousands of nurses currently working. One of the advantages of this situation is that the job prospects are expected to remain excellent for many years to come.
